  • Do watch this page. We'll be listing all that's happening, and has happened, at Maison de la Famille here.
  • 30 June 2008    Bill has started up a personal blog. It is very new (and thereore, very empty!) but might provide some of you with continuing news and entertainment from the world of Maison de la Famille! It is at http://zeltus.eu/blog/ for those who are interested and have the time to browse.
  • 20 May 2008    The area of land next to us, which is curently being used as a car park, is due to be landscaped and terraced, with trees, grass and seating. There was going to be a fountain, but it seems that will cost just a bit too much. All this is scheduled to happen in February 2009. Shame it can't be sooner, but then, may be France Telecom wil lhave replaced al the overhead lines with underground ones by then, which will alos help make the village ever more atractive.
  • 7 July 2007    Hooray! The boulangerie is open. And as promised, he is selling a goodly assortment of everything not just bread. He is also well aware that we can pass a fair amount of British customers his way and so is stocking some UK goods. I'm still trying to convince him about ginger beer however!
  • 22 June 2007    At long last the work to bury all the overhead cables has been completed (well almost - as usual, France Telecom are dragging their heels and thus the 'phone lines still dangle everywhere. The new lamp posts are in place and working - as soon as said 'phone lines are buried and the old lamp posts removed, we'll definitely look prettier!
  • 16 January 2007    This is a busy round of updates! Work continues on burying power and telephone cables, erecting new street lights and generally smartening the village up. The derelict property next to us has now been demolished and will eventually be terraced over, complete with a fountain. It looks like the village is definitely on an up-cycle at the moment. Long may it last!
  • 16 January 2007    The Bar(/Tabac/Press) is open again - Mme. Manu is now running it herself - it had to close for a period whilst the licences were transferred from her ex-husband to herself. But it's now fully functional again - Hooray!
  • 9 November 2006    The work to bury the overhead cables around the village has resumed after an inordinately long hiatus... the village will look prettier than ever once completed. although you'll all be pleased to be missing out on the sound of jack-hammers and excavators that are bedevilling us at the moment!
  • 15 October 2006    Call us for free! Yes, really! Using Skype to speak to us for nothing! - our skype userid is zeltus.
  • 2 October 2006    A lot of time has been re-vamping the website, to make it a) rather more easier to navigate as well as b) easier to maintain.
  • 27 June 2006    Hooray! Broadband has finally been installed in the village. This means we are able to offer wireless Internet access to those who simply can't (or won't) stay out of contact with the office. We can offer limited access to our own computers, or you can bring a laptop and connect using wireless (802.11b or g) protocols.
  • 7 September 2005    We've equipped all the gîtes with DVD players - bring your own or browse our own collection. They also double up as mp3 players, for the technically aware. We've also started updating the photographs on the website, now that the place has changed so much since the originals were installed.
  • 25 February 2005    We're well into preparations for the 2005 season with lots of decorating and re-furnishing work on the go. The winter weather here is chilly but we know how long, hot & sunny the summer will be!
  • 4 August 2004   More and more events are being organised in this area with increasing emphasis on the requirements of British tourists. Contact us for details of concerts, night markets, open-air theatrical productions, children-oriented activities and more!
  • 25 February 2004    Guests have been supplying us with copies of their holiday snaps. We've put them on-line in our Rogue's Gallery. Enjoy!
  • 10 January 2004    The overhead cables are coming down at last! Once completed, the village will look a lot more picturesque and attractive and we should also benefit from a more stable power supply (ha! - believe that and you'll believe anything) There is also a faint possibility of broadband internet access as well.
  • 8 Decmber 2003    The bar now has new owners! Albert and Bernadette Pouby have now retired (they've moved to just the other side of the village green) and the new owners have made a good effort to introduce themselves to us all. We're hoping that of all the changes they will be making, that opening later of an evening and offering a plat de jour menu will be amongst them. Watch this space!
  • 06 August 2003    We are getting some really flattering feedback from guests - have a look at our Guestbook for a selection of our favourite comments. We're really pleased at these and fully intend to maintain our standards.
An increasing number of hits are coming from people using Firefox - I've spent no small amount of time trying to make sure the pages are usable under this browser. It's still quite clunky, but I claim it is at least usable! Don't hesitate to contact me if you see any "funnies"
  • 29 June 2003    New photographs are gradually appearing on the web pages. I'll be adding more as and when I process them so keep watching! There are some personal photo albums as well.
